GERRIT UT' E MIEDEN is from Stam 27.  The Stam 27 line has a very large number if Ut` e Mieden horses.  His motherline runs S, S, S, S+P - S+P, stb, Vb, stb (and this is the beginning of the line). GERRIT UT' E MIEDEN is from Stam 27. Ut' e Mieden is the name of the farm where Rypke stands at stud. It's interesting to look at the mare books in stam 27.

My Gerrit, (4yrs old) and trainer, Cindy Eskuri and I were invited to perform in a Lighted Friesian Show at the VA Equine Extravaganza October 27-30th, 2006. This was a 4 horse quadrille with 2 show stallions Yk (15 yrs. old) and rider, Karen Johnson and Thor (17 yrs. old) with rider Christy (Joe's daughter) also Thys (8 yr. old gelding) a mounted police horse, with rider Karen Chastain. Gerrit did so well, that everyone was amazed that he was only 4! He was called "the old soul" of the group! Navy Seal lights were attached on leather straps and attached to the bridle, down the forelock area, down the mane area, across the shoulders, down the outside of the front legs, then across the "rump" and down the outside of the hind legs. The quadrille preformed to music in the dark with only the lights on the horses. The crowd loved it and the horses seemed to enjoy performing for them. The Lighted Friesian Show was the grand finale of the evening performances and then the crowd was allowed to come down to touch, pet and photograph the horses and riders....

It was an incredible experience for all of us involved and a lot of work! Hats off to Joe Myers and his love of the Friesians! This Lighted Friesian performance was photographed and filmed by Mark Barrett for a 6-part segment on Friesians to be aired on RFDTV sometime this next year......
